Is my data properly protected when using e-billing?

All banks as well as SIX Paynet Ltd and PostFinance AG are contractually obliged to maintain confidentiality over the data they save and to use this data solely in relation to the provision of e-billing services.

Is my data properly secured when using e-billing?

E-billing is an integral part of e-banking. As such, the comprehensive security measures and data protection guidelines that are customary in the industry also apply to e-billing. In the e-billing systems, great emphasis is placed on the protection of data when it is stored and transmitted: the latest data protection procedures are applied in accordance with the e-banking standards of Swiss banks. All involved partners are contractually obliged to protect the systems and saved data.

Are my e-bills automatically paid?

No. You must approve the e-bills for payment by clicking on them in e-banking.

At some banks it is possible to set up standing approvals for e-bills. If you are interested in this, please ask your bank directly whether you are able to do this in your e-banking.

Can I reject an e-bill in e-banking if I do not agree to it?

Yes, you can reject an e-bill by clicking on it. In such cases, please contact your biller.  Otherwise you may receive a reminder.

How long do I have access to the PDF copy of my bill?

You can download the PDF for a period of at least 90 days. The e-bill will then be deleted.
